Automotive
In today’s customer-driven marketplace, vehicle quality is more important
than ever. To build an ever-higher level of technical quality skills, Ford
Motor Company developed the Corporate Quality Development Center
(CQDC) training program, a focused educational experience that provides
both technical and team competencies for improving quality in automotive products.
Launched in 2001, the educational system includes in-depth coursework and instruction
in quality and lean manufacturing tools and techniques. Some of the topics covered
are:
- Supplier Quality Segmentation
- Failure Modes Effects Analysis
- Global 8D
- Production Parts Approval Process
- Manufacturing Site Assessment
- Q1
- Statistical Process Control Lean Manufacturing
- ISO/TS 16949
- Program Management
- Campaign Prevention, Field Actions, and Stop Shipments
- Error Proofing
GP has delivered the Ford CQDC program throughout the greater APAC region, including
India, Australia, China, Thailand, and South Korea.
Energy
Malaysia’s national power company, Tenaga Nasional Berhad,
needed to train employees at the Sultan Ismail Phase II Combined Cycle Power Plant.
GP Malaysia began the project in October 2006 and will perform the following by
the end of the 10 month project timeline:
- Develop System Description and Operating Procedures (SOPs) and On-the-Job training
modules for 36 power plant systems
- Develop computer-based training (CBT) modules based on the power plant SOPs
- Implement a Learning Management System (LMS) software to accomplish a "knowledge
improvement" certification process to measure training effectiveness
Information Technology
During 2004, GP globalized the training business process outsourcing services that
we were providing to a global Internet solutions provider to include
Asia Pacific (APAC) and Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA).
GP assumed outsourcing management of the customer’s Project Management curriculum
beginning in 2005. During that same year, DMAIC, Change Management, Global Teams,
Executive Briefing Center, and customer-specific content became training outsourcing
responsibilities. Support for various leadership programs has also been provided.
Beginning in 2006, GP assisted in the expansion of the customer-specific content
program to include individual contributors and the creation of a talent management
initiative. The GP-led transition and redevelopment of the company’s personnel
development program supported the APAC rollout for both managers and individual
contributors.
During 2007, GP assumed outsourcing responsibilities for the sales curriculum and,
most recently, the advanced sales program. This year also saw GP transfer the US
Account Manager to Singapore to support the customer’s APAC rollout of the
personnel development program and in-theater support for other programs.
Professional development as a program in APAC underwent additional modifications
completed by GP to eliminate redundancy and to streamline the manager version to
a one-day program. Furthermore, the program has been redeployed with revisions to
support a world-wide rollout to support a variety of corporate initiatives.
GP’s proven experience within the training outsourcing market as well as over
three years of outstanding support as measured by quality measures and cost savings
supporting this global Internet solutions provider are testaments to GP’s
abilities.
